Working at Dorris-Eaton
The Dorris-Eaton School is proud of its strong reputation, dynamic academic atmosphere, collaborative faculty culture, and desirable location in the San Francisco Bay Area--qualities that make it an appealing destination for those seeking long-term employment. Our low staff turnover speaks for itself.
Since teaching, administrative, and staff positions may become available when we least expect them, resumes with cover letters are accepted throughout the year. To support our continually evolving curriculum and meet emerging needs, we welcome applications from preschool and K-8 educators, as well as substitute teachers, at any time.
Preschool note: Ours is a true teaching environment. We focus on vocabulary development, early literacy and math readiness, and fostering a love of learning. Our professional teachers prepare students for future school success in a nurturing setting on our five-acre park-like campus in Alamo.
Teacher Testimonials
“The only way to do great work is to love what you do. The Dorris-Eaton School genuinely cares about the staff and families wholeheartedly. I am encouraged to learn new things and continue to grow as a teacher. We have an amazing team, there is always something to laugh about and celebrate. Every day is different, challenging, and exciting. No two days are the same. This job gives me the opportunity to have a positive impact on people's lives and make a difference every day.”
- Preschool Teacher
"The close-knit community, outstanding student body, stellar curriculum, and beautiful campus make working at Dorris-Eaton an absolute joy."
- Lower Elementary Teacher
"Since starting to work at Dorris-Eaton, I no longer dread Monday mornings. Instead, I look forward to interesting conversations with supportive colleagues and engaging discussions with enthusiastic students."
- Upper Elementary Teacher
"For me, what makes The Dorris-Eaton School so unique is the division of literature, writing, and grammar classes. The separate language arts classes, small class sizes, and academically minded students make teaching here a joy. Our literature classes can devote ample time to literary analysis and vocabulary instruction while the writing and grammar classes can cover concepts and genres with more depth and detail than a typical school's English class. Helping students develop advanced critical thinking and communication skills is incredibly rewarding."
