Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs: Elementary and Junior High

Do you accept enrollment during the school year?

Yes.  While the application process typically begins in the fall/winter prior to the year your child will be enrolling, we happily accept students mid-year as long as space is available.  Don't hesitate to reach out to admissions@dorriseaton.com if you'd like to check on available space.

Do you have an extended care program?

Yes.  Our campuses open at 7 A.M. and close at 6 P.M.  Extended care can be scheduled daily or in another format that fits your family's needs.  Drop-in extended care is also generally available with at least 24 hours notice.

Does your curriculum include music, art, foreign language, and PE?

Yes, they are all included.  We strongly believe that music, art, Spanish, physical education, and other enrichment programs are a vital part of a child's growth and we incorporate them into our daily class schedules.  Students also have the opportunity to participate in before- and after-school extended care as well as academic teams which allow them to pursue their interests and, hopefully, find new ones.

Is your curriculum based on Common Core?

No. Our curriculum embraces what is best in traditional education and augments it with carefully selected and proven innovations.

Do you have a hot lunch program?

Absolutely.  In addition to being a great opportunity to avoid "the summer slide", it's also a great chance for students and parents to get a feel for Dorris-Eaton and the quality of the education our children receive.

Do you offer financial aid?

Yes.  Dorris-Eaton's financial aid program is completely self-funded.  We use an independent service (TADS) to evaluate financial information and documentation supplied by the applicants.  We provide financial aid in the form of tuition reduction as needed and as our annual budget allows.

Our financial aid committee grants aid independently from admissions decisions.  Applying for financial aid does not affect a candidate's chances for acceptance.
