Preschool Curriculum
The hallmark of the Dorris-Eaton preschool program is the excitement reflected in the smiling faces one finds on the campus. After all, there is nothing as appealing as the natural, thirsty curiosity of preschoolers—fresh, unbiased, and receptive.
Sharing, showing common courtesy, and working together form the basic springboard from which all activities flow. In this time of learning, discovery, and social development, our experienced faculty guides the children in their interactions with others.
Programs custom-designed for children ages 2.9 to 4.9+ allow children to explore and absorb. Since preschool students are naturally ready to grasp new ideas, it is the ideal time to build vocabulary and speaking skills; introduce the basics of phonics, reading, and math; and cultivate children’s fascination with the world around them.
Through art, science, Spanish, music, movement, and play, preschoolers solidify advanced school readiness skills. The elements of listening, observing, and following directions are woven into every activity. Fine-tuned motor skills—an important factor in school success—are developed as children cut, paint, print, climb, and dig.
